CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT LEAD - CONTRACT – KAZAKHSTAN

 

Our Client, a Major international Oil and Gas contractor, is looking for a Continuous Improvement Lead to work on a project in Kazakhstan.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • The Candidate must have a credibility to coach at senior manager/director level while they develop CI skills and ways of working.
  • Candidate must be experienced in setting up and supporting CI deployments in large organisations (programmatic and cultural).
  • The candidate must have demonstrated an ability to coach lean transformations, be familiar with the Lean Management system and Leader Standard Work (this is a must) and Six Sigma techniques.
  • Must have experience with on the ground coaching of project teams.

 

Specific required skills:

  • Significant Line management experience.
  • Experienced Lean Master or certified Six Sigma BB (minimum).
  • Well-developed coaching skills of senior managers and process workers.
  • Experience with building sustainable change in organisations through Lean Management (e.g. Toyota Production System principles).
  • Has proven Kaizen Facilitation experience.
  • Must have experience of implementing Standard Work for leaders.
  • Self-starter and skills to become effective very quickly in a complex environment.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills.
  • Ability to deliver work through influence; successful candidates will be able to evidence strong examples of changing “hearts and minds” and are therefore most likely to be “people” rather than “project” led change agents.
  • Any Degree holder

JOB PURPOSE

The purpose of the role is to embed CI behaviours at the POD LT (Production Operations Directorate Leadership Team) level, the development of a CI culture by driving delivery of the POD business plans through performance improvement in critical business processes, building on the CI work started in the M&TA (Maintenance & Turnaround) organization in 2016

JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Provide an integrated POD CI deployment plan and lead its execution  The initial focus is to continue to deploy CI practices in the FIM (Facilities Integrity Maintenance), SPO (Safe Production Operations), TOM (Threats & Opportunity Management) and Logistics Management processes.
  • Drive End-to-end process thinking which is key to developing a CI culture.
  • Develop strong examples of business performance improvement success to be shared across POD and the wider CLIENT organisation and create a stepping-stone to expand CI activities to the next level (CLIENT wide).
  • Enhance and co-ordinate POD’s CI capability development programme for Leaders and Practitioners and (co-) lead the related training events.
  • Develop at least 3 Lean Coaches to expand the training and coaching capability within the POD organization.
  • Develop CI capability more broadly within CLIENT through selected Change Agents and Improvement networks / programs etc.
  • Support Production Directorate LT alignment and drive CI behaviour for leaders (eg. active use of Visual Management and recurring huddles, drive Go-to-Gemba practice and use of Socratic Questioning method etc) and CI practitioners to deliver continuous improvement & cost reduction projects.
  • Working closely with HR and Organisational Effectiveness teams to determine change management, communications and leadership development requirements.

 

Duration:          1 year renewable

 

Rotation:         Either 14 days on / 14 days off or 28 days on / 28 days off.

 

Rate:              US$ 490 per day worked net of Kazakhstan tax.

 

Benefits:           Client pays flights, insurance and medical insurance/medical evacuation, Accommodation, transport.
