Our Client, a Major international Oil and Gas, design and construction contractor is seeking an accomplished Cost Controller to work in their Surrey offices on a range of offshore oil and gas project.
Degree qualified in an relevant subject
Must have recent experience of detailed cost control within the oil and gas industry.
Must have recent experience mainly working for offshore engineering contractors.
Must have recent experience of working on offshore Installation projects either within the O&G or Renewables sectors and must have worked on the operational phases of projects (rather than the design phase of projects).
Must have lump sum project experience.
- Generate and manage a cost control system to support Project Managers’ decision making.
- Ensure any deviations from budget are promptly identified / analysed with corrective action taken.
- Establish a cost awareness atmosphere among project teams whilst satisfying both operating client company and corporate cost control reporting requirements.
This position will work across the following specific responsibilities:
Initial Project phase:
- After contract award, ensure the implementation of the Cost Control System, elaborating the consolidated Cost Breakdown Structure according to the relevant procedure, reviewing the procurement/accounting system adopted at each operating company involved with the project. 
- Issue the Project Cost Control Procedure, Cost Coding Manual and Risk Management Plan, for the Project Control Manager verification.
- Split the Commercial Budgets in order to report revenues/costs by entity, currencies, and prepare cash flow by currency.
- Coordinate risk management activities and the qualitative / quantitative assessment of identified risks and opportunities.
Project execution phase:
- Ensure the cost control system works effectively and cost status is assessed and reported.
- Monitor activity progress and the relevant earned value, as well as value of work done, against invoices received, determining monthly accruals and generating accounts in line with works progress.
- Support projects during the contract changes/claims process, providing cost impact analysis, and updating cost/revenue forecasts.
- Analyse committed costs and activities to-date, review estimates to completion and advise the Project Managers accordingly.
- Maintain the risk management process, organizing periodic meetings and verifying risk owners feedback.
- Issue project and company reports.
RATE: Please quote what limited company rate you would be looking for.
DURATION: 12 months.
