ENGINEERING LEAD – DIRECT HIRE CONTRACT – KAZAKHSTAN

 

Our Client, a Major international Oil and Gas contractor, is looking for an Engineering Lead to work on a project based in Kazakhstan.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree BSc or equivalent level in Engineering.
  • Demonstrable experience (min. 6-8 years) and proven track record in oil & gas facilities or marine, coastal, navigation, hydraulic installations. 
  • Previous experience and familiarity with RoK and/ or other Caspian projects and marine projects.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge in regulatory, procedures and architecture of naval oil & gas transportation and marine engineering, regulations and International standards.
  • Good knowledge of International engineering standards, best practices, and systems.
  • Experience about shallow water navigation and facilities.
  • Experience in preparing scopes of work and managing contractors work will be an advantage.
  • Good technical, interpersonal and team-working skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English. 
  • Proactive approach to decision process (in the pertinent discipline).
  • Problem solving oriented.
  • Ability to work in team environments-communicate, understand and work within the dynamics of a multi-functional and multi-location environment.
  • Capable of working on multiple tasks simultaneously under pressure conditions.
  • HSSE driven mindset
  • Experience in offshore and onshore facilities processing high H2S content and sour fluids is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of RoK navigation and marine regulation is a strength point but not mandatory.
  • This job is demanding and requires self motivation and vision to progress the project objectives. 

 

JOB SCOPE:

The purpose of the Engineering Lead position comprises the following key aspects:

  • Provide technical support to Projects to ensure that design, construction, commissioning and adequate maintenance is carried out according to appropriate technical standards, including RoK mandatory standards;
  • Provide support to strategies and content of Engineering, execution, commissioning processes related to CLIENT onshore & offshore assets;
  • In collaboration with Production & Operations Department, and Technical Directorate, establish venture performance, by providing high value credible engineering services in assistance to brownfield and/or feasibility projects
  • Establish and sustain a structured and proactive approach to transfer knowledge to graduate engineers

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinating definition of all the project technical requirements.
  • Preparing SOW and Basis of Design for contractors and monitoring progress and preparation of deliverables.
  • Review deliverables produced by Engineering & Procurement Contractors.
  • Define and evaluate DS, TBE, requisitions relevant to material and equipment necessary to fulfil the activity.
  • Defining and coordination interfaces with EP Facilities and new installations, optimizing installation and construction schedule, as well as minimizing cost and safety risks.
  • Writing and/or providing technical input into feasibility studies, functional specifications, and Basis of Design for production and processing facilities.   
  • Participating in process safety reviews activities.
  • Contributing to a database of size, weight, cost and delivery time of major equipment and packages associated with offshore and coastal/port facilities.
  • Reviewing and keeping updated, the project Basis of Design/ Statement of Requirements for the relevant discipline, including collation and analysis of relevant data of CLIENT.  
  • To ensure that all opportunities offered by introduction of new technologies are pursued and evaluated.
  • To ensure that lessons learned from operations and activities performed and all experience gained in the relevant discipline is valued and capitalized.

 

Rate:               Negotiable US$ per worked day net of Kazakh tax

 

Duration:           1 year renewable

 

Status:             Single status Residential basis working 5 days a week, 8 hours per day.

 

Benefits:           Client pays medical insurance/medical evacuation, Accommodation (single status standard).  50 work days of annual leave (unpaid) and 3 paid home leave return flights per residential assignment year (1st trip after 3 months of work).
