LEAD RISER ENGINEER - PERMANENT - SURREY

 

Our Client, an offshore oil and gas contractor, is currently looking for an experienced IAC Riser Lead to join their team based in Surrey.

 

EXPERIENCE

To be considered for the position, candidates must demonstrate:

  • Degree qualified riser engineer with min. 10 years experience in riser design, incl. 5 years leading experience.
  • Capable of performing riser design including configuration, dynamic analysis, fatigue, and interference.
  • Capable of leading the Riser and Mooring Engineering activities in accordance with Project requirements and manage/verify the work executed by the riser analysis team.
  • Preferable to have knowledge of IAC market and experience in cooperation with IAC suppliers.

 

Software Requirements:

OrcaFlex and hand calculations.

Knowledge of codes and standards, including, DNV and IEC.

 

JOB SCOPE

Mission:

  • Lead the Riser and Mooring Engineering activities in accordance with Project requirements within the assigned budget, time schedule and quality standards.
  • Maintain and develop technical skills, expertise, knowledge, procedures and tools as required for proposals and project execution
  • Ensure the capitalisation of Project experience in order to improve and harmonize work methodologies

 

Tasks:

  • Propose resources for tender/project organization and appoint the selected personnel
  • Control the dept. programme schedule of projects
  • Overview the engineering activities and provide technical support or direction in solving technical issues to the dept. PSLs or Project Engineer Manager whenever necessary
  • Lead the eng.team in the identification of the strategy to develop system configuration tasks and to design the components achieving progress and a satisfactory completion of the tasks within the project constraints
  • Develop personnel skills and flexibility through work assignments and responsibility and through attendance at seminars and courses
  • Evaluate the personnel performance according to our Client’s system
  • Motivate the personnel and support full integration with our Client’s departments and activities
  • Contribute to the definition, implementation, and improvement of the quality system
