Our Client, a Major international Oil and Gas contractor, is looking for a Materials and Corrosion Engineer to work on a project based in Kazakhstan.



  • A degree in corrosion control, metallurgy, material science, chemical engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience in corrosion and material engineering in an oil and gas environment is required (5 years minimum)
  • Chartered Engineering status or equivalent
  • English Level: proficient
  • Experience in creation and management of Integrity Operating Windows
  • Experience in risk based inspection
  • It is envisaged that the candidate will be able to demonstrate practical application of expertise complemented by a sound education in metallurgy (or related subject) with a strong bias and in-depth knowledge of corrosion
  • Equally important will be a willingness to share ideas and knowledge and the pride and enthusiasm he/she brings to the position
  • The applicant should be an enthusiastic self-starter who can demonstrate a record of achievement, good interpersonal, and communication skills.  



To provide Materials and Corrosion Engineering support to the Clients Plant Integrity Assurance Team, preliminary on the generation of Integrity Operating Windows (IOW).



  • The development of IOWs for Clients Unit 3 based on API 584 definition (Mechanical Metallurgy)
  • Data gathering (PFS/PFD, P&lD, Process Data, H&MB), using Input from other Departments
  • Corrosion Circuit Validation (PFS/PFD, P&lD Level)
  • Identification of Damage Mechanisms
  • Identification of Key Process Parameters
  • Risk ranking of Damage Mechanisms
  • Establish the IOW limits (Critical, Standard, Informative)
  • Issue of IOW documents for the functional unit


Rate:              Euro 33 per worked hour net of Kazakh tax


Duration:           10 months with possible extension


Status:             28 days on / 28 days off (working 7 days a week, 12 hours a day)


Benefits:           Client pays mobilization/demobilization and flights, medical insurance/medical evacuation, accommodation, transport.
