STRUCTURAL ENGINEERS (JUNIOR LEVEL) – PERMANENT – SURREY

Our Client, a Major international Oil and Gas, design and construction contractor based in Surrey, is seeking Trainee Methods/Installation Engineers.  They are looking for structural engineers who are interested in becoming Trainee Installation Engineers in the offshore sector.

 

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Candidates with experience in a structural role and are interested in transferring to the offshore sector or having had previous experience within an installation contractor would be considered.
  • Should have a degree in civil, structural or mechanical engineer.
  • 6 months to 1 year’s experience in structural engineering.

 

THE COURSE

The course is tailored to provide training within the office to cover the expected engineering and project expectations complemented with specific training courses at our Client’s fabrication sites and tailored courses with specialist training providers.  Our Client encourages and supports all engineers in their professional development to achieve Chartered Engineer status.

 

They require candidates for this course, which will take circa Nine months to complete whereby the candidates will be ready to fulfil the Installation Engineer role described below.  The course is due to begin in September this year.

 

As an Offshore Methods Engineer you will:

- Provide installation support and engineering design services in the office for projects being executed within the Client.

- Provide on-site Installation engineering support and be our representative for installation preparations on site for the relevant projects.

- Support the offshore execution phase of installation projects.

- Assist in the development of procedures, bids and studies for installation work within the company.

 

SALARY & BENEFITS

These are Permanent Staff positions and joining a major organisation would have many large company benefits. As well the further training would be second to none in the industry Salaries offered would be dependent on qualifications obtained. For a fresh graduate the starting salary is good with higher salaries for those with a Masters and with also further enhanced for those with a PhD . Graduates who have had some experience either in the oil and gas industry or other industries there would be a level of increase in the basic starting salary.  

The Client’sOffices are very close to the Station.
