TRANSPORT PLANNER - PERMANENT – OXFORDSHIRE

 

Our Client, a successful Civil and Structural Engineering Consultancy is looking to recruit an ambitious Transport Planner to work from their office in Oxfordshire. Although, successful applicants will also be considered for their Gloucester, London and Exeter offices.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Chartered or working towards Chartered status.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a Transport Planning role and should hold a relevant degree.
  • High standard of written and oral communication.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience writing Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and Transport Statements.
  • Experience carrying out junction capacity assessments using current industry standard software.
  • Experience preparing drawings using AutoCAD and industry standard geometric design software packages.
  • Experience carrying out vehicle swept path assessments using AutoTrack.
  • Experience of negotiations with highway authorities.
  • Knowledge of national guidance such as Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions, Manual for Streets, etc.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Project Management of traffic and transport aspects of multi-disciplined projects including preparation of fee proposals, management of programme and budgets, liaison with Clients and other relevant members of the project team.
  • Growing transport and traffic expertise is required, as well as maintaining and developing Client relationships.
  • Management, leadership, support and coaching of other team members in undertaking technical work and report writing.
  • Preparation of Transport Assessments, Travel Plans and Transport Statements.
  • Site audit and conceptual access feasibility statements.
  • Preliminary and detailed design for highways, traffic and public realm schemes.
  • Traffic assessments and design of traffic improvement schemes & traffic calming.

 

Salary:  Offers a competitive starting salary depending on experience.
