 Our Client a Major Oil and Gas contractor is currently seeking a Civil Designer for their offices in London.

 Experience/Qualifications:

Engineering Degree or HND
Corporate Membership of Professional Institution (Chartered Engineer)

 Job Scope:

 Job Definition:
Provide technical expertise and supervise staff assigned to him/her by project lead engineer.
Assume role of lead engineer for small/minor projects.

Responsibilities:

- Carry out design activities and calculations, including the production of drawings, schedules, other documents, man-hour estimates for work, interpreting clients’ technical specifications and other related activities to meet project requirements.

- Lead the design activities of self and other designers on a project, to ensure delivery meets scope, time, cost and   quality.
- Ensure that own work on a project complies with all necessary corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures, to guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is maintained.
- Work with other engineering functions on a project to ensure inter-disciplinary alignment and coherence.
- Carry out design activities at client site as required, to meet individual project or client needs.
- Preparation of project specific design specifications
- Set-up site preparation documents and general lay-outs
- Prepare structural steel drawings and details
- Check steel fabricator shop drawings
- Prepare concrete layout drawings and details
- Prepare underground coordination layout
- Prepare architectural layouts, details and material list
- Perform field checks
- Perform 3D-design & drafting
- Conduct model reviews
- Preparation of MTO
- Advice on technical problems
