Our Client, Major Oil and Gas contractor is seeking a Piping 3D PDS Designer for their project in Hants.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of Oracle for installations and table spaces
Knowledge of MS Office software applications including Access for reports
Minimum of 5 years experience in PDS Administration is required to understand system concepts.
Experience in supporting and proficient in testing and troubleshooting systems/application problems and working with end users
Knowledge of MicroStation as PDS is based on this product
Position requires understanding of Engineering Design requirements to produce necessary reports
Should have a background in engineering workflow and use of piping, equipment, raceways, HVAC and material management
Other Requirements
Mobility required for business trips across Europe and internationally and occasional short term assignment.
JOB SCOPE:
Client serves the chemicals and polymers, refining and onshore oil & gas industries. It provides the full life cycle of a project from concept studies, through to design, engineering, project management, delivery of process technologies, procurement, construction and maintenance services.
As a pure project execution/EPC specialist, client can provide customers with strategic 'one-off' services or full turnkey solutions under a single project management control. It works with its customers in the development of major technological innovations, having participated in the conceptualisation and implementation of ideas, which are the foundation for world-class production facilities.
Role
Under the supervision of the Plant Design Engineering Manager and the technical leadership of the respective project Team Leader, the PDS System Administrator's regular activities will include
Installation of upgrades patches releases and evaluating and testing new patch releases prior to distribution
Configuration, customization and administration of PDS application Seed files for Equipment, Piping, Raceways, HVAC, Frameworks, Drawing Manager and Isometric production
Responsible for data integrity of PDS application data as well as integration with other applications.
Responsible for backup/archiving and maintenance functions. Daily maintenance including Emergency Recovery, manage data security.
Assign User access rights within PDS in line with IP requirements.
Provide daily technical support for application users.
Should be able to manage work share projects internally and external to the Company.
Should be capable of producing and running training classes in-house for the 3D Intergraph systems.
Responsibilities
The maintenance of data contained within the related databases of project models and drawings.
Monitoring the application's data integrity
Ensure DOW standards and procedures are implemented to meet lifecycle requirements.
Perform data integrity checks on models
Set up and run the Interference manager reports
Extract, plot and manipulate reports from PDS including the following- Line lists, equipment lists, instrument lists, valve list etc. into required formats.
