Our
Client, an international onshore Oil and Gas design and
construction contractor, is seeking a Senior Civil Structural Architectural
Engineer.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
Graduate engineer.
At least five years relevant design experience.
Team leadership capability.
Basic project management skills.
Capable of managing own work and that of others.
Commercial and Health & Safety awareness.
Preferred:
Professionally qualified (e.g Chartered) Engineer.
Experience within process contractor environment.
Relevant site experience.
Other Requirements:
Mobility
required for business trips across Europe and internationally with opportunity
for occasional short term assignments.
JOB
SCOPE:
- Lead functional input to own
projects, including where relevant leading the input of other engineers, to
ensure engineering delivery meets scope, time, cost and quality.
- Ensure that own work and
that of more junior engineers on a project complies with all necessary
corporate, departmental and legislative requirements and procedures, to
guarantee that the necessary consistency and quality of delivery is
maintained.
- Proactively generate value
adding options within projects to offer to clients Plan and prioritise own
work and that of more junior staff so that deadlines are met.
- Recognise and address
potential and actual cross-discipline issues and conflicts so that overall
engineering input to a project is coherent.
- Prepares project specific
design specifications Preparation and interpretation of site & soil surveys.
- Prepare building application
packages and discuss them with the authorities Set-up site preparation
documents and general lay-outs.
- Make structural steel
calculations.
- Make reinforced concrete
calculations.
- Make foundation design
calculations.
- Make sewer design
calculations.
- Supervise 3D-design &
drafting.
- Supervise preparation of
Civil, Structural and Architectural layout drawings and details.
- Check shop drawings and
detail calculations.
- Preparation of engineering
and construction sub contract documents.
- Perform field checks.
- Conduct model reviews
Provide field engineering assistance.
- Coordinate and guide
3rd-party engineering.
- Preparation of Man hour
estimates.
- Preparation of MTO Advice on
technical problems.
- Perform inter-discipline
check on documents.
- Functional lead on small
projects.
- Lead project team of junior
engineers.
- Works within client
procedures Address and resolve any functional issues within a project through
use of technical capability and engineering judgement, applying own or
colleagues skills or generating innovative solutions as appropriate.
- Plan and prioritise own work
and that of more junior engineers.
- Refer any issues that
threaten project delivery to manager.
- Check work of more junior
engineers and designers.
- Work within procedures at
all times.
- Effective verbal and written
communication with peers across disciplines and more senior engineers on tasks
and day to day issues.
- Provide lead in functional
engineering documentation, including client documentation, on projects.
- Prepare functional
engineering documentation, including client and supplier documentation, on
projects.
