CIVIL DESIGN COORDINATOR - PERMANENT - SURREY

Our Client is a specialist supplier to the power and other industries. They are currently seeking an Civil Design Coordinator for their Project Engineering Centre.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
- Civil/Electrical/Mechanical engineering technician with AIS & GIS substation experience preferably within the United Kingdom.
- Good knowledge of AutoCad 2007.
JOB SCOPE:
To ensure the effective coordination of the civil design, by others, with the company electrical and mechanical design.
1. To coordinate and check the effects of design changes in respect to drawings, documents and calculations.
2. The coordination of the civil engineering substructure design with the company electrical and mechanical design and the requirements for cable ducts, cable trenches and electrical penetrations.
3. The coordination of the construction of foundations with the installation of equipment and equipment support structures. Coordination of cast-in fixings/holding down bolts based on the requirements of the civil, electrical and mechanical design.
4. The coordination of Air Insulated Switchgear and Gas Insulated Bus supports with building, foundations and building penetrations.
5. The coordination of building envelopes with the clearance requirements for electrical safety and equipment access / installation within the company scope.
6. To advice managers and staff on all civil and structural engineering matters as required.
7. To ensure drawings, documents and design comply with required specification, code and standard.
8. To attend civil coordination meetings with our civil design partner / civil construction partner and detailed design subcontractors in Croydon or external offices as required.
Job conditions: 37 hours per week, paid overtime. 25 days holiday per year plus bank holidays.
Salary: £30,000 - £33,000 per annum plus benefits (pension, private medical cover, PHI, life assurance)
