CIVIL STRUCTURAL ENGINEER - PERMANENT - LONDON

Our prestigious EPC oil and gas client is currently seeking a Civil Structural Engineer for their London office. They are currently seeking a number of candidates with varied skill sets and may be able to provide help with working visa’s for the right candidate.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
· Engineering Degree or HND
· Corporate Membership of Professional Institution (Chartered Engineer)
· Relevant experience in contracting or related industries plus experience in the contracting industry. This experience should include operating as the engineer in charge of the engineering of major equipment or systems on projects, and must have been responsible for carrying out these tasks with minimum supervision.
· In addition, must have supervised engineers of the same discipline and must be able to liaise with engineers and drawing office staff of all disciplines.
· Liaison with project management and all departments outside the engineering department that interface with or are part of a project team.
· High proficiency in the English language.
JOB SCOPE:
· Provide technical expertise and supervise staff assigned to him/her by project lead engineer.
· Assume role of lead engineer for small/minor projects.
· The engineering of particular equipment or plant areas assigned by the Lead Engineer. This will include production of project specific specification, formulating technical content of requisitions, approval of vendor data and relevant client’s drawings and documents such as layouts and start-up/operating procedures.
· Ensure that engineering is carried out in accordance with my client’s procedures and contractual requirements to the agreed budget and schedule.
· Compliance with all project instructions and company EHS procedures.
· Coordination and control of engineering man-hours and costs associated with the equipment or areas allocated to him/her.
· Preparation / checking of engineering calculations.
· Report on a regular basis on all matters affecting technical problems, costs, or programme to the Lead Engineer or Project Engineer as appropriate.
· Must be familiar with and comply with engineering general procedures and all project specific procedures.
