The Access Technology Research Dept. is to conduct advanced access technologies research in various broadband access technology areas, such as xPON, xDSL, FTTx and so on. It leads industry adoption of the advanced broadband access technologies by actively participating in standards and forums, and provides guidance to product strategies.  QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

Graduated in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or equivalent with over 10 years experience in Tele/Data communications. (With international telecom company's experience would be preferred).

Experienced in access product system architecture design (DSLAM, MSAN, FTTX …) for years.

High level research and development management experience in the world leading broadband access Company(HUAWEI, ALCATEL-LUCENT, NSN, ECI, ERICSSON).

Profound understanding to the access network of Tier1 carrier (history, current status, maintenance, problem, future trends, how to maintain, the key issues ...).

Experienced Strategy planning capability in xDSL, xPON technology and products.

Profound knowledge in xDSL, xPON, Voice, Ethernet technology.

Familiar with system architecture design methodologies, profound understanding of architecture modeling in industry.

Abundant experience in software engineering and hardware engineering.

Extensive knowledge in Telecom and Datacom products and technology, such as MPLS MSTP, Ethernet, IP Routers, Home Gateway, IP-STB etc.

 JOB SCOPE:

1. Building and Managing the system architecture design team for next generation Access Network.

2. Researching evolution of access network architecture.

3. Leading design of the access product platform based on the new generation optical access network architecture

4. Reviewing and evaluating the current product (DSLAM, MSAN, FTTX …) architecture and design.

5. Participating in technology planning activities. Providing the understanding and evolution of future optical access network and tech trends, effects on the investment of the department. Initiating key technology research project plan for making decision.

6. Communicating with carrier R&D teams to acquire technology requirements and cooperate with them to evaluate the relevant tech.

7. Communicating with research group in headquarter, providing guidance and instruction to them.

Qualifications

Fluently spoken English.

 Salary: £70-100k
