PROJECT ENGINEER (OFFSHORE INSTALLATION) - CONTRACT - SURREY

 Our Client, a Major international Oil and Gas, design and construction contractor is URGENTLY seeking a Project Engineer (Offshore Installation) for a new Wind Farm Project.

 QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:

The Project Engineer shall be a Professional Engineer (or agreed equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years experience working on the construction and installation of major marine civil engineering or offshore oil and gas projects.

 JOB SCOPE:

The Project Engineer is responsible for the execution of major marine subcontracts, such as Cable Laying, Heavy Lift, Piling, Transition Piece and Wind Turbine component installation.  The project engineer shall supervise the installation engineering activities related to the design and construction of the Offshore Wind Farm.  He/she shall liaise with the project design and project controls teams to ensure that the Wind Farm components can be constructed and installed safely and within time and cost constraints to achieve the project objectives.

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

·          Provide day to day direction to the major marine subcontractors for the execution of their respective scope of work.

·          Liaison with the subcontractors in relation to engineering progress, deliverable submission and corresponding work schedule.

·          Maintain coordination and good relationship with the client.

·          Review applicable engineering specifications and drawings from a marine construction perspective.

·          Ensure technical co-ordination with other departments and disciplines, including attendance at interface meetings.

·          Provide input into the development of marine construction schedules and construction cost estimates.

·          Monitor the progress of onshore construction work with respect to marine construction interfaces.

·          Attendance at site and preparation of work progress reports.

·          Interface with fabrication yards related to delivery and assembly of marine contractor’s equipment.

·          Provide site query responses and procedure review for fabrication, erection, load-out, installation and weight control.

·          Attendance offshore during critical phases of the marine construction activities.

 Rate:  c£55-£60 ph

 Location:  Based in Surrey with part time attendance at site and offshore.

 Duration: 12-15 months
