QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required:
· 4+ years of Oracle applications functional support - multi module experience at 11i
· Provide skilled, knowledgeable expertise in Oracle best practices
· 4-6 years experience working across the Oracle 11i Enterprise suite primarily within the Payroll, Procurement, Projects and Finance modules. Exposure to HRMS would be a plus.
· Strong knowledge of Oracle E-Business architecture and administration.
· Exceptional ability to diagnose and solve system problems while maintaining professionalism and courtesy.
· Adaptable and resourceful, capable of working under pressure to meet aggressive deadlines with limited resources.
· Proven interpersonal skills; ability to work productively and professionally with any level of business and technical resources as it relates to requirement definition, analysis, prototyping and scope consensus.
· Self-starter; shows strong self-initiative to meet project deliverables and overcome issues.
· Strong documentation skills.
· Experience with global implementations and multiple currencies are desired.
· Oracle workflow skills are desired.
Preferred Skills
· Integration experience with 2-way transactions shared between an external business application and Oracle 11i is desired
· Experience working operationally in a FUNCTION role in addition to implementation experience is a BIG PLUS!
Education / Training:
Bachelor's degree in IT related or business program is preferred.
JOB SCOPE:
The primary role of this position is to act as an Oracle Applications Functional Support Specialist for a new implementation that goes live in September.
The Support Specialist will work with the various UK departments, liaising with the global organization as necessary, and will be responsible for all aspects of functional support of the Oracle applications solution. This will include identification of problems, issue resolution, ad-hoc report development, testing, etc. The role will be very customer facing, requiring a close working relationship with the application users.
The Oracle solution covers functionality for HR, Payroll, Procurement, Finance, OTL, and PA.
We intend to start the position whilst the project is still rolling out, such that the Support Specialist starts as a project resource and then takes over the functional support post go-live as the project team rolls off.
Primary Duties / Responsibilities:
· Immediate Project related tasks:
o Work closely with business counterparts to understand and document business requirements and to gain a thorough understanding of the business processes.
o Design, configure and test the implementation of Oracle for a phased global rollout.
· Functional Support tasks:
o Prepare fit-gap analysis and functional specifications for requested enhancements based upon detailed understanding of Oracle software, process best practices, and client requirements. This will include developing multiple solutions, evaluating each solution, and making a recommendation for the appropriate solution.
o Coordinate and participate in system testing for enhancements and projects.
o Coordinate with training group to maintain appropriate user guides and other training materials; conduct new user and 'refresher' training courses.
o Work with developers to design and test extensions to the Oracle Applications, primarily in developing additional reports.
o Work closely with the rest of the IT support team to enhance their functional understanding of the system.
o Work with Oracle Operational Support and hosting provider to resolve issues.
o Develop project estimates and manage project workplans.
o Stay abreast of new developments and functionality in the Oracle offerings.
o Some travel may be required.
