Our Client, serves the chemicals and polymers, refining and onshore oil & gas industries. They provide the full life cycle of a project from concept studies, through to design, engineering, project management, delivery of process technologies, procurement, construction and maintenance services.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
Essential
· Ability to use PDS software for equipment and piping modelling.
· Ability to use PDS Pelican Forge pipe support software.
· Good general piping design knowledge.
· Good general mechanical design knowledge
· Good standard of verbal and written communication in English.
· Co-ordination with other disciplines and other piping designers
· Problem solving ability.
· Ability to monitor and report on progress of work.
· Ability to maintain documentation and filing in good order.
· Ability to work to, and suggest improvements for, procedures and job notes.
· Use of, or ability to learn, PDS-SmartPlantReview software.
· Good general ability on IT computer software (expert is not required).
· HSE (health, safety, environment) awareness.
Preferred Skills
· AutoCad or Microstation (expert is not required).
· Use of PDMS or PDMS-DesignReview software.
· Experience of working on site - either construction or working plant.
Personal Qualities:
· Assertive, enthusiastic, pro-active and creative.
· Good at working independently and as part of a team.
· Good at developing relations, both internally and externally.
· Flexible with regards to work tasks.
· HSE conscious.
JOB SCOPE:
The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Piping Designer shall include but not be limited to, the following:
· Modelling equipment in PDS using information from data sheets, vendor details and equipment layouts and including nozzle, ladder and platform design and orientation.
· Input of piping for initial study work using information from process flow sheets, equipment layouts and plot plans.
· Detailed input of piping systems incorporating all necessary line slopes, instrumentation, valves and special design items.
· Input of 3D pipe support systems.
· Generation of isometrics from a 3D model.
· Generation of equipment layouts from a 3D model.
· Generation of piping general arrangements from a 3D model.
· Client model reviews using Smart Plant Review.

Candidates must be flexible to perform activities in other countries as required. Worldwide mobility applies to business trips, short and long term assignments.
