CONSTRUCTION CO-ORDINATOR - DIRECT HIRE CONTRACT - KAZAKHSTAN

 Our Client, a major international Oil and Gas operator is seeking a Construction Coordinator for their project initially based onshore Kazakhstan, before moving offshore.

 Purpose:

 To efficiently coordinate a site team in overseeing the construction works carried out by the EPC contractors for the new Headquarters building and the new Expatriate Residential Compound to be constructed in Kazakhstan to ensure:

·         that works are carried out in compliance with the brief;

·         that works are carried out in compliance with applicable codes and standards;

·         application of appropriate testing, quality control, commissioning and handover procedures;

·         timely completion of works.

 Accountabilities and Responsibilities

The job holder will work as part of the Company’s project team responsible for managing the headquarters and residential projects from inception to completion, commissioning and handover.  The job holder will report to, and be accountable to, the Offices and Accommodation Project manager in connection with the construction works for the new Kazakhstan Headquarters Complex and Expatriate Residential Complex projects, taking responsibility for:

·         Managing and coordinating a team of civil, mechanical and electrical superintendents and supervisors overseeing (inspection and quality control) the full range of construction activities on site, at external fabrication yards, batching plants or other locations as necessary to ensure compliance with contract requirements;

·         Advising on the acceptability or otherwise of construction works carried out by the EPC contractors;

·         Ensuring that quality control and testing procedures are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements, and overseeing application of the procedures;

·         Supporting the Company’s Project Team in providing timely responses to queries received from the contractors in connection with the construction works;

·         Advising on the need for, and providing support in the preparation of, variation orders;

·         Advising on completeness of construction works for which contractors may be claiming payments;

·         Advising on and supporting the Site Team in overseeing any particular requirements for handover and commissioning of the completed works;

·         Supporting the Site Team in, and advising on acceptability of, commissioning procedures;

·         Participating in the review of as-built drawings and operation/maintenance manuals received from the Contractors in connection with the construction works to ensure that such documentation is accurate, complete and meets the project requirements.

 Safety Responsibilities

Demonstrate a personal commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment by following

 Comply with specific HSE requirements on project sites and co-operate with HSE staff in ensuring that EPC contractors also comply insofar as construction works are concerned.

 Working Conditions:

The position will be filled by one person on residential status. 5 work days per week. The incumbent will be based on the construction site in Kazakhstan but may spend some time in the Company’s head offices (also in the same part of Kazakhstan) prior to the start of construction activities.  Accommodation is provided of an international standard.  Transport will be provided to the place of work.  The Company working language is English, while the local language is Russian and/or Kazakh.

 Rate: £575-600 per day, plus a residential premium of 20% to 27.5% depending on residential status.

 Duration: 12 months. The company will guarantee a minimum 24 month engagement with the project on residential should all other contractual obligation be fulfilled.
