Client is a market leader in providing specialist software,
outsourcing and information technology (IT) services to the human resources,
local government, education and public safety markets. They are currently
seeking an HR Advisor for their office in Peterborough

JOB
SCOPE:
Purpose:
- To
maintain, develop and enhance the Service Delivery Library (including the
Training SDL) in accordance with changing best practise, employment
legislation and case law developments
- To
provide a professional human resource consultancy service to all clients
requiring Advice Line support which may require on site support
- To
provide a framework for and be responsible for ISO, mood mapping, data
protection and all other HR, training and recruitment support activities for
the HRO division across all HRO sites. Additionally, to support the division
with client specific research and queries
- To
perform all duties in accordance with the company Health & Safety and Quality
policy procedures
- There may
be additional activities to perform from time to time in order to maximise the
contribution to The Company’s HR’s goals and objectives
Main
responsibilities and Opportunities:
- Assists
the management of day to day HR Advice Line queries and client documentation
for client base
- (internal
and external enquiries)(policies and procedures)

Interprets client requests and provides clear guidance through effective
listening and questioning

Prioritises work effectively taking into account the needs of a range of
clients and external deadlines
- Responds
to client issues within agreed timescales, manages client expectations through
effective communication
- Provides
advice and guidance based on employment legislation and best practice and
client requirements

Responsible for all policy and procedure updates for clients, including the
delivery new client start up documentation
- Is able
to get to the route of the problem through effective listening skills and
provide the most appropriate course of action

Demonstrates clear understanding of current employment legislation

Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing using the most
appropriate media dependant on circumstances

Recommends both reactive and proactive solutions to client issues
- Liaises
with HR Administrators to ensure consistency and continuity in service
delivery through regular one to one meetings, both informal and formal
- Utilises
appropriate IT systems
Provides
Customer Service:
- Develops
relationships with customers by listening and responding to customer needs
- Manages
Customer expectations by agreeing realistic deadlines and schedules for
completion of work
- Meets
deadlines as specified in Client SLA’s

Understands impact of HR solution on ‘bottom line’ in terms of business
benefits
- Ensures
professional processes and documentation are logged, updated and maintained in
a standardised format
- Considers
new ideas to add value to the customer without incurring unnecessary extra
cost to The Company, thereby potentially generating additional income
Undertaking
Research and Development into Newly Developing Areas of HR and ensure all
Clients, Internal and External are Fully Briefed/Trained on the Changes as
Appropriate:

Undertakes research and development in newly developing areas of HR management
in liaison with the HRO teams in order to develop standard policies,
procedures and practices for use by all HRO divisions in the delivery of
service to clients

Responsible for on-going maintenance and development of all policies,
practices, models and templates within the service delivery library
- Working
with the HRO teams deliver HR/employment law briefings, training and updates
to internal and external clients on client of The Company’s premises as
applicable
- To
support the HRO team in their day to day activities, by giving them advice and
guidance on policy, best practice and employment law, to provide training
where necessary and equip them generally with the skills and materials to
deliver their services to clients
- Displays
knowledge of a wide range of HR issues

Understands the practical application of HR policies within the workplace and
is able to interpret them into advice line support provision

Understands the implications of legislative changes on HR policies and takes
appropriate action
Undertake
Ad hoc Projects as Part of the COE Team and/ Client projects:
-
Implements/carries out activities within general scope of the project and
within accepted project management methods as directed
- Work in
accordance with ISO/BSI procedures and mood maps and provide support for any
internal (or external) audits that take place
Ongoing
Development of Professional Competencies:
- Provides
mentoring facilities to colleagues not directly managed by the post holder
- Leads by
example and initiates development plans linked to competencies relating to
both the strategic and specific areas of human resources
- Uses a
range of self-study methods to improve personal capability. Charts and logs
professional development supported by CIPD
- Attends
relevant learning events and seminars and integrates learning and latest
practices into day to day activity. Shares knowledge with team
Salary:
£20,000 - £25,000 per annum
